Welcome to the 2026 golf season. As we transition into spring in Northeast Ohio, we are experiencing typical temperature fluctuations and considerable dampness. We hope you enjoyed your winter despite the extended cold and substantial snowfall. The grounds crew has been actively preparing for the upcoming season, and we would like to provide a progress update regarding recent developments on the course.

The course is now in “soft opening” status and available for member play when weather and ground conditions are favorable. As we move out of the winter months, access will be determined by ongoing temperatures and course conditions, allowing members an early opportunity to enjoy the course during initial preparations.

We are pleased to announce that the new wash pad is complete and fully operational. This enhancement improves our equipment maintenance efficiency and consistency, ensuring effective cleaning and environmentally responsible runoff management. Ultimately, it extends equipment longevity and supports superior course conditions.

Construction of the new scoreboard behind the pro shop continues. We are awaiting contractor completion of remaining installation tasks; once finished, our team will finalize the structure to ensure seamless integration with its surroundings.

Winter tree removal operations have concluded for this season, achieving approximately 80% completion of the approved list. This has positively impacted sunlight and air movement across key areas of the course. Remaining trees will be addressed next winter or selectively during the summer as conditions permit. Additionally, the stump grinding contractor will commence work as soon as weather becomes sufficiently dry.

Course cleanup remains a daily priority following several significant windstorms over recent weeks, which resulted in widespread fallen debris. Our staff is diligently working to clear sticks, limbs, and other materials to restore course playability and overall condition.

As conditions improve, we have initiated early-season maintenance, including limited mowing operations, which will expand as temperatures rise and turf growth stabilizes. Routine maintenance practices are also being reestablished to ensure all playing surfaces remain healthy and well-prepared for the season.

Bunker fine-tuning has begun, supported by Board and Finance Committee approval of five loads of bunker sand. Efforts will focus on the most challenging bunkers, addressing drainage issues and restoring sand depth and playability. Priority will be given to those in greatest need, and work will commence shortly.
