We hope you have been enjoying use of our new electric powered golf carts. As was referenced in the original April 30th Update, there has been a learning curve with introduction of the electric carts and geofencing. Here are some updates.
We will be removing most of the directional signage on the course. That does NOT mean you will now be able to drive beyond or into the restricted areas.
Poles (4x4 stakes – striped, black & white) will be installed near the greens on all par 4s & 5s. You should return to the cart path at this point. There will also be a reminder pop-up message that appears on the screen. Of course, stay on the cart path on all par 3s.
Also, a green pole on hole number 2 will be installed near the Silver tee. This is a Scatter Pole. Remain on the cart path until you reach this pole. You may then enter the rough/fairway after this point. The purpose of this is to prevent extensive wear/tracks in the rough in wet low-lying area.
You may notice slight variations in the start of restricted areas between your rounds of golf. This is due to the fact geofencing is impacted by atmospheric conditions (e.g., clouds) like any global positioning (navigation) system.
If a pop-up window appears on the screen, simply touch the screen to return to the previous screen.
The distance on the screen is to the middle of green. You can move the flag by touching the screen (drag and drop). This function works only on the right side of the screen and not on the blow up as you approach the green on the left side.
As a reminder, the small flag on the pole signifies the position of the flag on the green. If the pin is in the front third of the green (lower on pole), middle third of green (middle of pole) or back third of the green (higher on pole).
On dates where access is restricted to Cart Paths Only (CPO) the pop-up screen reminding you will only appear for the first three holes. That does NOT mean the CPO restriction has been lifted for the remaining holes. You can override the pop-up by simply touching the screen to go back to the previous screen.
That’s it for now. Let the Pro Shop know if you have any questions or feedback regarding usage of the electric carts.
