Greens & Grounds Committee Update

Course Preservation

Dear Members,

Legendary golfer Bobby Jones once said, “Take care of the golf course and the course will take care of you”.   Here are some suggestions to help take care of our golf course.

  • To help preserve the turf. After teeing off remain on the cart path until you reach your tee shot, then proceed at 90° to your ball. Remain on the fairway until you hit your approach shot while staying out the restricted area (apron) in front of the green. Return to the cart path and avoid driving in soft or damaged areas in the rough.

  • Replace and repair divots with soil material provided in bottles on both sides of carts and all Par 3 holes,

  • Pick up trash and place in rubbish receptacles on course.

  • Place broken tees in the receptacles on many of the tees.

  • Repair ball marks on greens. If you see one and even if it’s not yours repair it. A properly repaired ball mark returns to playing condition in three days versus two plus weeks for improper or unrepaired ball mark. Thanks for your support.

Together we can make a difference. After all the course is ours to maintain.
