After a wetter-than-usual August, summer is giving way to the fall golf season, when the course will showcase its seasonal color. Beginning next week, we will start a maintenance program to protect course health and support the recovery and long-term quality of the greens.

Greens Maintenance

  1. Fall aerification: Our annual course-wide aerification is scheduled for Tuesday, September 8, through Thursday, September 10, 2026. The course will be closed while this work is completed.

  2. Second greens-only aerification: A second greens-only aerification, with cores removed, is scheduled for Monday, October 12, through Tuesday, October 13, 2026, weather permitting. The course will be closed on both days. Backup dates are Monday, October 19, through Tuesday, October 20, 2026. The greens are expected to recover in about one week. Please use these dates when planning your rounds.

  3. Winter topdressing: The greens will be top-dressed before winter, with timing based on course conditions and the long-range forecast. This work is essential to protecting the greens.

  4. Spring aerification: Spring greens aerification will occur in late March or early April, depending on course and weather conditions. We will share the finalized dates. The course will be closed during this work.

  5. Long-term care: This maintenance program will continue over the next three seasons.

Help Protect the Course

As the season continues, please help protect the course by remembering to:

  • Repair ball marks on greens properly—your own and one more.

  • Fill or replace divots as appropriate.

  • Pick up broken tees and place them in the provided receptacles or in your cart’s dashboard.

As you may know, I was elected to the Board of Trustees at this past spring’s Annual Meeting. With these broader responsibilities, I am stepping down as Chairman of the Greens & Grounds Committee. Mike Hogam has been appointed as the new Chairman, and this will be my final update. You will hear from Mike in the future. It has been an honor to serve as Chairman, and I hope you have found these updates valuable.

Thank you

Bob Healey

Greens and Grounds Committee Chairman
